The sword is the Word of God.
The shield is faith.
We stand with the shield of faith raised
and the Word of God in our hands.
The foundation of our faith
is the redemption and victory
Christ accomplished through the cross.
Christ paid the price for our sins
and delivered us from sin and judgment.
Now we are covered by the grace of God
and walk with Christ—
the Lion of the tribe of Judah,
who has already overcome.
